At 707 Plumbers, we believe in community, connection, and the power of giving back. One way we put these values into action is through our unique dump truck service, which we’ve been offering for free to our local community. If you’ve ever wondered about the story behind this service and how it works, let me take you through it.

The Origin of the Dump Truck

The dump truck that we use for our service has a special place in my heart. It originally belonged to my stepdad, who wasn’t satisfied with the offers he was getting for it and decided to gift it to me instead. That was about four or five years ago. Since then, it’s been transformed into a plumbing vehicle, complete with a new paint job and wrap, but its purpose has remained grounded in the values of generosity and community.

How the Dump Truck Service Works

The idea behind our dump truck service is simple: we use the dump truck as a mobile trash can for our fleet of vehicles. Over time, the truck fills up with waste from various jobs, and when it’s nearly full, we take it to the dump. However, there’s often some space left in the truck, and that’s where our community service comes in.

We offer to pick up additional items from local residents—for free—during our scheduled dump runs. This service is made possible because we don’t take items that incur extra fees, like batteries, mattresses, refrigerators, motors, or electronics. By sticking to general trash, we can keep costs low and offer this service without charging a fee.

Why We Do It

The motivation behind this service is deeply personal. For me, it’s a way to give back to the community and build meaningful connections. It’s not about making money; rather, it’s about helping others and fostering relationships. This service has been an important tool for me in maintaining my sobriety, as it allows me to stay grounded and focused on positive, community-driven activities.

When people offer to pay for this service, I always feel a bit uncomfortable because that was never the intention. The truck was a gift, and I want to pass on the benefits of that gift to others. Instead of payment, I prefer a simple handshake, a hug, or a thank you. It’s these small, meaningful exchanges that make the effort worthwhile.

The Future of the Dump Truck Service

While we’ve always offered this service for free, I’ve been considering the possibility of offering it as a paid service during slower weeks. However, I’m hesitant because introducing money into the equation changes the dynamic. For now, I believe it’s best to continue offering it for free when we can, and to recommend other reliable services like those run by my friends Andress and Justin for paid dump loads.

How to Take Advantage of Our Service

If you’re interested in using our dump truck service, here’s how it works: I post availability in local “Pay Nothing” groups when we’re about to make a dump run. The space in the truck is limited, and our schedule is often tight, so I encourage people to claim a spot quickly. To ensure fairness, I try to give new people a chance to participate by holding off frequent users for about 30 minutes before they can claim another spot.

The goal is to connect with as many different people as possible and spread the benefit of this service across the community. If you’ve used our service before, please be patient and allow others the opportunity to benefit as well.

Final Thoughts

Our dump truck service is more than just a way to haul trash—it’s a way to connect with our community, give back, and build lasting relationships. It’s a service rooted in generosity and the joy of helping others. I hope this post clarifies our intentions and how the service works. Thank you for being part of this journey with us, and as always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Have a great night, and stay connected!
